Unveiling an exciting new Racing experience this August
FBD Hotels & Resorts is thrilled to announce our inaugural sponsorship of the Saturday Series at The Curragh, set to take place on four consecutive Saturdays in August: the 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. This new initiative promises a blend of top-tier racing, lively music, and family-friendly entertainment, making it a standout event in the summer calendar.
Each Saturday will see one of our esteemed hotels partner the event and sponsor a race, bringing unique themes and festivities to The Curragh. Here's the exciting schedule:
- Saturday, August 10th: The Heritage, Co. Laois - Keeneland Phoenix Stakes Race Day
- Saturday, August 17th: Killashee Hotel, Co. Kildare - Irish St Leger Trial Race Day
- Saturday, August 24th: Castleknock Hotel, Co. Dublin - Future Champions Race Day
- Saturday, August 31st: Faithlegg, Co. Waterford - Pat Smullen Cancer Trials Ireland Race Day
A festive atmosphere for all
Each race day will kick off at 1:45 PM with a thrilling lineup of eight races, concluding around 5:30 PM. Guests can look forward to a vibrant summer party ambiance with diverse food and drink options, live music, and a variety of family-friendly activities, including a dedicated kid’s zone with free entertainment for younger racegoers.
Adding to the excitement, attendees will have the chance to win luxury weekend getaways to any of our FBD hotels, ensuring that the spirit of hospitality and celebration extends beyond the racecourse.

A competitive edge
Trainers and jockeys will also find added excitement in the new series, thanks to the introduction of a points-based League. Points will be awarded to the top three finishers of each race throughout the month. The trainer with the highest points will win a lunch for 20 team members at a hotel of their choice, while the winning owner will receive a Newbridge Silverware award, and the top jockey will enjoy a two-night break at any of our four Irish properties.
