On Saturday, 29th of June, La Cala Resort will host a special event that promises to be a feast for the senses. The 4 Hands Dinner will see the collaboration of two culinary maestros: Executive Chef Jenny Flynn from Faithlegg and Executive Chef Brian Deegan from La Cala Resort. This exclusive evening will feature a 7-course menu that showcases the finest produce and culinary artistry of both Ireland and Spain.

 

Meet our Chefs

Brian Deegan: Hailing from Dublin, Brian brings a deep connection to Andalucía to his creations. His menus are a tribute to the local heritage of Mijas, Málaga, and they beautifully reflect the flavors and traditions of the region.

Jenny Flynn: From Wexford, Jenny has established strong relationships with local producers and artisans in Ireland. Her seasonal menus at Faithlegg capture the essence of Waterford, offering guests a true taste of the region's culinary richness.

A Culinary journey across two cultures

Our 4 Hands Dinner will take you on a gastronomic journey, combining the best of Spanish and Irish cuisines. The evening will commence with a “Mar Azul” tomato salad featuring Irish apple, followed by an array of traditional Spanish fish dishes. Highlights include scallop with Caviar Riofrio, cauliflower, plankton beurre blanc, and Almadraba tuna with organic lentils, baby spinach, and roast jus.

From Ireland, Jenny Flynn will present Skeaghanore duck with salt marsh duck, wild garlic dust, root vegetables, star anise, and orange jus. The evening will also feature a delightful Spanish and Irish cheeseboard, leading to a decadent dessert course of dark chocolate delice with caramel jelly, Irish yogurt, and rosemary sorbet, complemented by ‘Barry’s tea fudge’ crafted by Brian Deegan. 

Perfect pairings

Each course will be expertly paired with a selection of wines from esteemed Spanish producers. Enjoy the crisp flavors of Morosanto Blanco, the richness of Bestué Chardonnay Barrica, the depth of Augustus Trajanus, the robust Lucio Tinto Ronda, and the refined notes of Maestro Viña Axarkía.
